BEFORE AN EARTHQUAKE
1. Practice safety drills with your family. It is significant for your family to be aware of what to do during the actual situation. Be alert at all times once the first shaking or jolt is felt.
2. Know which places are safe for you to do your safety drills whether this may be in your house, school or at work. Inform and notify these areas to your family.
3. Always have an emergency kit with you, a small one would be more handy, which can provide each family members necessities for at least 3 days.
4. Since signals would be broken and communication would be difficult, it would be significant to have a laminated piece of paper with all the necessary contact numbers and bases which are telephone numbers and evacuation sites.
5. Keep animals safe as well. Find a shelter beforehand where you can temporarily leave your pets whenever a disaster occurs and when needed to evacuate.
